Wouldn’t it be great if we could make those often frustrating car trips with the kids into an exciting and fun experience or turn that boring walk in the park with the kids into a journy in ecology. Read Mary Budren’s fascinating and fun book and they will be. “Travel Wise with Children” is a must reading for every parent, grandparent and young children’s teacher. This book not only grew out of author’s experience as a mother but also drew on the experiences of others to devise an endless variety of approaches to recreating everyday events with children into fun with learning. The lists of resources that accompany each chapter serve to enhance the value of this book. The practical ideas and examples encourage immediate application of the creative ideas presented. As a recent grandparent, I devoured this book and gave a copy to my children. I only wish I had this book when my children were growing. This is a book you will read and reread. Soon you will be creating fun learning experiences on your own. Read this book today and tomorrow your children’s lives will become more enriched. As a Doctor of Education at The George Washington University, I strongly recommend that every grade school and middle school make this important new book an addition to his or her library. It is of the best books on creating learning experiences for children I have ever read. As a teacher and educator you will find this book invaluable in turning your classroom into a fun learning environment.
